A Samosa is fried or baked pastry with a savoury filling,such as spiced potatoes,onions,peas,meat or lentils.It make take different forms,including tringular,cone,or half moon shapes depending on the region.

Samosa was also brought to India by by the Mughals,but the popularity  and prominence they enjoy in India have made them famous as a popular Indian food.


INGREDIENTS

FOR DOUGH
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp.salt
  • 1/2 tsp.carom seeds
  • 4 tbsp.desi ghee or oil
  • 150 ml water

FOR STUFFING

  • 2 tbsp.desi ghee oil
  • 2 tbsp.garlic (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp. ginger (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp.cumin
  • 3 pcs.green chillies (chopped)
  • 1 pcs.onion (medium size)
  • 1 tsp.nigella seeds
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp.red chili powder
  • 1 tsp.red chili flakes
  • 1 tbsp.lemon juice
  • 1 tsp.coriander powder
  • 600 grams boiled potatoes
  • 1/2 cup cilantro (chopped)
